My All Time Favorite Paint Colors

I have a weakness for Benjamin Moore paint. WEAKNESS. Right now in our garage I probably have at least 30 different paint sample jars and I have 3 hanging out in my dining room I had mixed this week. One might assume I’m getting ready to paint a room in my home, but I’m not. I just collect paint like some women collect shoes or purses. My husband thinks it weird and always make fun of my color knowledge (jealous much?) “It’s white Autumn, no it’s bone white Ian, it isn’t the same thing.” White is not White.  While most of my top colors are in the white family, I have several non-white favorites on the list too.

Hopefully if you are planning on painting in the near future, this list will help you. Hopefully it will also help you avoid painting as many swatches on the walls as I have.

Since I am obsessed with white the #1 on my list is BM  Simply White.

I love Simply White because it is the closest to a crisp bright white without being too stark. It looks bright white on the walls until you put a pure  white beside it. I painted our living room and the master bathroom we are still renovating in this color. I also plan on painting the kitchen this color as well.

Another favorite white is BM White Dove. Unlike Simply White, this color is much more creamy and wouldn’t be considered a whites white. This color looks beautiful beside bright white trim or even Simply White trim. Our master bedroom and part of Estella’s bedroom is painted this color. Its super soft and calming.

I love BM Horizon. I plan on painting our guest bathroom in this color after renovations are finished. It look especially good with bright white trim.

Next on my list is BM Balboa Mist. It is a beautiful warm gray. Aside from walls, this color looks beautiful on furniture as well.

Another favorite is BM Moonshine. Like Horizon, moonshine is considered gray however has more green undertones.

BM Revere Pewter is on my list considering it’s said to be the best paint color ever. I really like it, but not sure about “best color in the world.” This color is so so versatile. It looks different day to night and is just so beautiful. It looks really great with dark hardwood floors.

My last favorite is not a Benjamin Moore color but is too beautiful not to share. It is Sherwin Williams Dorian Gray. I painted the wood floor in our master bathroom in this color and love it.
